VA Architectural Photography Central Place Office in Roslyn

Client:  Clark Construction

“Central Place Tower”

Central Place is inspiring. Located across the Potomac River from Washington, DC, this is one of two high-rise buildings, one being a commercial office space and the other a residential, making up the beautiful design by architectural firm Beyer, Blinder, Belle. I want to say BRAVO to the architect and Clark Construction for creating such beauty!

A whopping 31 stories combined with the angle of this image makes the building look as if it disappears amongst the clouds! Also, with all of that glass, you have a top-notch view! Not to mention the sky-high observation deck and lounge overlooking Washington, DC, and Northern Virginia!

What I love most about this project is that it was designed to fill the need of the community. There was minimal personality or amenities in the area, so by adding the observation deck, a commuter passageway, and public art, they were able to achieve their goal of creating a "lively and urban destination."

To make this architectural dream a reality, Clark Construction had to demolish a nine-story building to replace it with this 31-story work of art. Of course, I am not a designer, but I think it is fair to say that they nailed it all the way down to the stone floorings and translucent stretched fabric ceiling in the lobby. JBG Smith (the owner) must be thrilled with this.

I find this image so inspiring because, to me, it signifies growth, strength, and poise. The way this building stands tall among the rest gives me a sense of groundedness that we all need a reminder of every now and then. I love the angle that Jeff Sauers decided to go with for this image. He was really able to capture that feeling. You know the one. The feeling of when you are standing next to something SO big that it almost takes your breath away to look up at it.

The use of color in this image is bold. The contrast between the blues and pinks is where the strength comes in to play. While the side of the building seems to disappear into the pink sky, the bold blue stands strong and poised.
